Charmey Paper Art is a juried exhibition of contemporary paper art organised every two years by the Musée de Charmey.
The 12th edition will take place from 28 June 2026 to 10 January 2027.
Opening reception: 27 June 2026
Éclat
The theme of this edition is «Éclat» (splendour).
«Éclat» can mean light, surprise, vitality, but also fragility: a shard of glass, a laugh, a piece of wood or a ray of light…
It suggests materials, reflections, textures, colours.
The word contains contradictions: it can be poetic, raw, intense or delicate.
It opens up a field of visual, sensory and emotional interpretations.

Intervenciones VII
The world is experiencing turbulent times. Immigration is a daily phenomenon in our globalised and interconnected world. People are «planted» in a foreign environment with their own customs and traditions. Society is changing. Not everyone is prepared for this change.

Is it still possible to achieve a harmonious environment despite different religions, ethnic groups, political attitudes, etc.?
As I am not indifferent to this situation, I would like to use my work to show how it is still possible to create a compatible balance in which big-small, new-old, modern-antique and other familiar opposites can live side by side and even make us smile 🙂
Like the word Éclat, which can be poetic, raw, intense or delicate, I aim to show with my work the contrasts in daylife. I want to open up a whole range of visual, sensory and emotional interpretations.
This work is part of my series of collages INTERVENCIONES, which deals with the same topic.
